Imprint sets up six-pack of films

Mike Wittlin to finance features

Imprint Entertainment, the film and TV shingle formerly known as Maverick Films, has set up six pics to shoot over the next two years with financing from indie backer Mike Wittlin.

The first pic under the deal is "In Northwood," a thriller starring Nick Stahl, Olivia Wilde and Dash Mihok. Thesp and playwright DW Brown is making his writing-directing debut.

Shooting is under way in Pittsburgh. Wittlin is producing "Northwood" along with Jamie Kennedy and Mike Rachmil.

Imprint co-founders Mark Morgan and Michael Becker are exec-producing.

After parting ways with Maverick's Guy Oseary, Morgan launched Imprint with Becker, a longtime rep, as a production and management outfit. It already has a range of projects in the works, notably "Twilight," based on the young-femme-skewing Stephenie Meyer books; and "The Stanford Prison Experiment," to be written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie.
